Veiled Exposé

Pretty powdered face,
Prevent emotional trace,
Eyes shimmer clear,
Hide the tear,
Big Smiles busting,
Ache left hiding

Charm grace appeal,
Conceal the feel
Everything so Perfect
Heart still bereft……………………
All she chose
A Veiled exposé,,,, ...

The faces had queries,
Trembling lips had worries,
Voices had a restraint,
The eyes had a complaint………….

The hearts want to show,
The ears dying to know,
The Minds try to interpret,
What was not being said?

Memories sweet or bitter,
Made the feelings stay and wither,
Love tottering between heaven and hell
As the distance between swell,

There were no signs of anger, irritation or ire,
May be in isolation a simple desire,
Moments comprised for life,
Between husband and wife
The love which got their hearts together,
And joined their bodies and soul forever,
A bond made over years,
With smiles and tears,

The shaky hands moved to sign and write,
To end the feeling in Black and white…………………………….

The never to be graduates

The hard work of a father was undone,
Every penny he saved for studies of his son,
The efforts of so many years,
Was now in left in tears,
The son had failed to get that cherished seat,
The boy was shocked at the result,
It was a like an never ending insult,
He wondered where he had left himself down,

He didn’t know that someone wrote his academic fate,
A fate of remaining only a prospective graduate,
His right of being educated was robbed by a rule,
This was made by a gem of a political fool,
The law of regulation of not belonging to a favored class,
Had made the boy ‘s education into fracas,
Millions like the boy will lose their right to learn,
And with a chance to excel and also earn,

There will be the new uneducated section,
Uneducated not by choice, but by legislation,
Which will the new face of our nation………………..
They will be the new section, who will grow at an alarming rate,
They will be the uneducated, unemployed, never to be graduates………………………...

Astrologer

My horoscope has stars in a great range,
My life is about to change,
I have a destiny in a wonderland,
He exclaimed that my life will be sweet like honey,
I will make tons and tons of money,
I will have a fantastic life,
With a few kids and a pretty wife,
The astrologer said it all,
I will rise and never fall,
I will live past seventy seven,
Before I proceed to heaven
I was in my year number 28,
The year he said was the year of my fate,
So all said and done,
I was the selected one……………………..
I had listened to his astrological view,
But how to accept I still had no clue……

For a moment he made me believe
That I had years to live,
He had pride in baring it all,
May be he knew everything or nothing at all
Somewhere the predictions had a humor
As I felt the pain of the tumor
………….

He waits for that familiar ringtone,
Which he had for her on his phone,
He keeps the door open like any day,
Waiting that she will be on her way,
He moves his hands on the empty couch,
Like he used to do for her touch,

He waits outside her office more,
May be more than before,
He thinks of bumping into her,
Just like he met her years before,

In all these memories of desire,
He fails to remember……………………..
A few days back lit her funeral pyre

Hide

My heart has a story to say,
The tears want to find a way,
The hands want to hold you for a while,
The face wants to have a simple smile,
The eyes ready with a request,
But all this looks like a tough quest……
I don’t know whether you want to hear,
The words left cramped in the fear,

The smiles, tears, feelings, words all locked inside,
So much to say and do...............

but all i can do is hide,

An unread Book .....................2

"An unread book in your book shelf……… a book which you bought few years back but didn’t read. Every time you clean or rearrange your book shelf, you
stumble on it, you look at it and even think that this book needs to be read, you remember how long you have had this book, you decide to read it and keep it out or may be on your table . It remains there but it’s never read coz although it appealed to you then or may be looked interesting, but you know it’s yours, so you can read it anytime.

You keep on looking for books which appear interesting to you or may be recommended by your friends. This continues for years, it remains unread. Then one day, one of your friends sees this book in your house and you give it her, she reads it and likes it a lot, she calls and tells you that she loved the book as its amazing…….. You suddenly want to read it ………..you ask from your friend about the book, but she forgets to return. You think about going back to the market and find that book again, but its no longer there………………
I am also like that unread book in your life……………………which you will never find time to read………………

Well the above para is on request from a dear friend who found the paragraph to be more appealing than the poem..........Thanks a lot madam for a fair feedback

An unread Book .....................

She stumbled on the old book by chance,
Don’t know what made her have a glance,
A glance through the pages and a few lines,
Along with it she took another book as it looked better and fine,

For years the old book only got a simple look,
But it still remained an unread book……….
Every year, she would read “ her kind of book”
Which belonged to a particular “look”

She often thought to read the old book some day,
But that never came her way,
Every time she cleaned the book shelf,
She would tell herself
That book is worth a read,
But it still remained a far away heed.

One day a friend saw the old book,
Borrowed or may be just took,
Liked and appreciated it to a great extent,
But never returned the book that was lent………..

May be she wanted to read it now,
But then may be didn’t know how,
Or it never occurred to her,
That she had that book ever………….

May be for her I was like that unread book

Far distant away from her thoughts and look……………
Untouched, unheard, Unknown ……..

I am my own paradox

I want to live evermore,
But accept death as the truth for sure,

Accept that happiness is a state of mind,
But still have money, career, love etc to find,

Knowledge which equips with sense,
But still never give up some innocence

A physical strength to bear any pain,
But eyes which can cry clouds of rain,

A mind which makes me so much able,
But a heart which makes me vulnerable,

A firm belief in the game of fate,
But somewhere don’t accept what destiny has to state,

A hope that keeps me sane,
But the endless wait drives me insane,

An age and maturity to make me mild,
But still I am stubborn like a child,

An urge to say it all and express,
But a restraint which forces to suppress,

A want that she loves me for some time,
But also accept that it’s not possible in this life time

A push to get away from her forever,
But somewhere wish this happens never,

There’s no beginning, there’ll be no end
I am my own worst enemy and best friend,

A simple inexplicable,
I am paradox fable

I dont remember her

I don’t need her anymore,
I don’t miss her like before,
I have removed every trace,
That will remind me of her face
I don’t remember her at all,
Even my tears don’t fall,

My dreams cease to have her,
I have forgotten her forever,
Just ………..
Find it difficult to forget,

The day, we first met.

Why is that people want me to win,
And if I loose it is treated as a sin,
Why I need to get that fame,
If I won’t, it will be a shame,

Yesterday I won and kept the promise,
Thought my sleep will be fine and nice,
But thoughts of winning kept knocking my mind,
Still a good sleep I could not find,

But today I lost a vital game,
Winner was no longer my cherished name,
Tonight I would sleep a loser,
A tired – fagged out loser,

A loss helped me find,
A sleep with a peace of mind…………..

They let me down -1

They could fall at any sight,
They would keep me awake all night,
They brought vulnerability to my existence,
They had no reason or sense,
They made me be called an “emotional fool”
They were responsible for me being a weak soul,

Then I threw them out of my life,

Their disappearance was like a gain,
Nothing mattered, not even pain,
For months and then years,
I was aloof from fears,
They were not there to scare
They were the drops of water called “tears”
Life without them was so full of excitement,
Nothing to emote and prevent,
No howls or whimpers to face,
Nothing to leave a watery trace,
There was no redness in the eye,
Finally I had forgotten to cry……….. ?

Sorry

Life with you was full of fun,
Whether it was in the moon or the sun,
With you, I had more ups than downs,
There were so many smiles and no frowns,

I wanted you to remain in my sight,
Be it the day or the night,
Then there was this fight
Where no one is wrong or right,
In a fit of anger, I ran across the road,
Without seeing the truck full of load.

I wake up in an unknown land,
I look around and can’t feel my hand,
I look for you by my side,
Then I guess that you have gone to hide,

I ask my friend where you are,
He remained silent and tend to ignore,
I could see a tear in his eye,
I guessed that, I was going to die,

I don’t know where is my grave,
But it’s your name I will always crave,
All I want to tell you is
That I always will love you,
But there is something which my mind will ever carry,
I am the one, who should have said,
I am sorry.

My Obituary

All the Facts and words in the obituary are purely mine and any living person going to be dead who copies them is liable to be prosecuted .......

God told me that I have my obituary to write,
Well being a poet, it should be a literary delight,
So with profound grief and some sorrow,
I am on my heavenly abode tomorrow,
I have just signed my not so great will,
I hope my family takes care of any pending bill,
I know some close ones will cry,
While others will give it a try,
Some will refer to me as a noble soul,
Or may be even call me an ----hole,
I was not famous or known for any big act,
I had a simple life for a matter of fact,
When I was born I didn’t play any part,
And neither will I when I depart,
I will never know who came for my funeral,
I am thankful to all who came here to the cremation place,
Also I am sorry as I will not there when they are set ablaze,

So as I write my final good bye line,
I think i will die pretty fine……………………….

Waiting

I waited for u by the sea
But u didn’t come,
I waited for u in the sun,
But u didn’t come,
Whatever be the reasons,
I waited in all the seasons,
Summers left me parched and dry,
Still waiting for u I didn’t cry,
All through the times of rain,
I was all alone in my pain,
Then came the beauty of spring,
I still held the friendship string,
The winter is here with a cold night,
I left the door open to catch your sight,
I lived for so long to see you,
Due to the promise made by you,
Now my life is coming to an end,
I waited as long as I could my friend,
I knew when you promised, u had lied,
Because if I believed you, out of joy I would have died,
I also broke my promise that I will not cry,
I am leaving this world with a wet eye…………….

Let me learn..................

Let me learn not have a smile,
Let me wait for you for a while,

Let my eyes learn to spill some tears,
Let my mind wander with fears,

Let me learn to fall on my face,
Let my heart have a sluggish pace,

Let me learn to miss you more,
May be more than before

But I know whatever I try to learn,
You is what I will always yearn,

So let me learn to die,
Before you say the final good bye.

A thought so fragile

Someone said “She is in town”,
His happiness had no bound,
The anticipation to meet her after a few years,
Left a smile and also brought tears,
The days passed and the time had come,
To meet his beloved one,
His eyes were dying to catch her sight,
He wanted to hug her so tight,
There were lots of things he planned to tell,
His experience of life as a heaven and hell,

His memories took him four years back,
When she was vulnerable and had fears,
She wanted a shoulder and someone to hear,
And he was there to hold and care,

And then he saw her standing a little away,
Their eyes met but she looked away,
He walked to her and said "hi",
She nodded back and as if she meant “bye”
There was a feeling that she was not at ease,
All words which he never said,
Were running in his head,
He said sorry and shook her hand,
He didn’t dare to hug her or even stand,
Turned back ……good bye with smile,
Just with a question….
Why is her thought so fragile?

Preserving youth

There she was an adorable woman,
The room was full of her fragrance,
But there was no way to preserve the essence,
Years later all her beauty will fade,
The attractiveness will begin to evade…………..

Left will be the memories clicked,
But they will be images of the past,
Saved on a piece of plastic,
Nothing will be there in an actual form or sense,
Which will tell her about her youthful presence?
Her hair will also be grey,
Time will have taken her youth as a prey

That day I will show the her tresses so black,
Which got entangled in my hands way back,
Somewhere her youth will be conserved,
Other than my heart ……………………….

Love " Second Time"

I cried and smiled last night,
I slept and was awake last night,
I ran and walked last night,
I wanted to die and live last night………

I saw her in my dreams once again,
I felt my heart bear a new and on old pain,
I expressed the truth and lied yet again
I held her and let her go once again,

I saw her images blur and clear at the same time
I saw the moon and sun at the same time,
I think I am in love with her for a second time

And may be its for a lifetime............................

I got it all wrong -1

I want to run towards light,
But then I get stuck in the black night,
I wish in this ocean of life someone was by my side,
And help me out of this deadly tide,

Soon I will disappear and will be gone,
All will say that I got it all wrong………

I tried so hard to win all the games,
But then could not get that wanted fame,
I sold my principles one by one,
And now I am left with none,

Soon I will disappear and will be gone
All will say that I got it all wrong………

I look for your familiar face,
But no where I can find any trace,
I wish to see your smiles,
But you are away a thousand miles,

Soon I will disappear and will be gone
All will say that I got it all wrong………

I sit down and wish to cry for a while,
But tears are no longer in the parched aisle,
I know time has come and gone,
Somewhere I got all my life and love so wrong…………………………………
